Spring snowstorms are not unusual in the Colorado Rockies, so when this snowstorm moved in on May 20, 2019, only the visitors were caught off guard. I took this image on the morning of the 21st when the clouds were just beginning to recede and the sun was trying to break through. To the right, you can see the section of Lympy Ridge called The Pear, and in the center background is Mummy Mountain in Rocky Mountain National Park. The town of Estes Park is in the foreground, disguised under a blanket of pristine snow. This would make a beautiful Christmas card.
