I camped near the trail head for Little Wild Horse and Bell Canyons (slot canyons), in the San-Rafael Swell, Utah, determined to get an early start the next morning while the lighting was still good. However, I hadn't expected it to get as low as eleven-degrees that night, and getting out of my sleeping bag that early just wasn't happening. Even the five-gallon water jugs were almost frozen solid. With a late start on the hike, I passed back by this spot on the way out of the slot, just as the sun was setting, and captured it with the rich lighting of the sunset instead of the sunrise.
