When I started on the trail on this morning in March 2016, it was snowing, cold and windy. Fortunately the clouds moved on, and the snow melted and left this rare pool in the checkered rock, perfect for a reflection image. Natures sculpturing is by far my favorite kind of art, it is art that one can not only see, but also breathe, touch, listen to, and envelope oneself in it's energy. It is healing, pleasing, humbling, and glorious. These buttes can only be reached by special permit, and I am honored to have been able to visit them.
