Description
Black Lake is five miles from the trail head, and as a destination lake, many hikers turn back at that point.. After Black Lake the trail climbs steeply by some cascades, and then peters out as it leads into the upper section of Glacier Gorge. This picture is looking down on Black Lake from near the top of the cascades. The mountain on the left is McHenry's Peak, and on the right is The Little Matterhorn.
